JesusChristMas Eve

10:00AM: Sister wakes me up to say bye on her way to the airport. Cannot accompany her as I had eaten a large meal before falling asleep the previous night and am completely unrested due to the resulting indigestion nightmares.

11:30AM: Manage to pull myself out of bed. Still tired, but I’m sure it’ll pass.

12:30AM: Still tired. Mom is gone to what is the first of three trips to church today. She really likes that JC fella.

1:00PM: Dad takes me to Costco. I really only need snow gloves for Yosemite (found ‘em for $15!!!), but spent the rest of time marveling at how much stuff a retired man with extra spending money will buy on a whim.

3:00PM: Still tired. Developing a headache. Take a nap as I want to call Eddie and Tim for some Halo later.

5:00PM: Have been sleeping for the past hour or two. Wake up, hoping that headache will be gone. It’s not.

7:00PM: Try napping again. Waterworld is playing on the SciFi channel. I never thought that movie was that bad. Plus Jeanne Tripplehorn has some fantastic lips.

9:00PM: Parents leave again to church to worship Jesus some more. I inform them that it’s not really his birthday, but a Pagan holiday that was co-opted by the Roman Catholic Church. Mom tells me they already knew that, and wishes me a Merry Christmas. Still have a headache.

10:00PM: Been napping sporadically and forcing myself to drink water. Also have discovered that my dad has subscribed to HDTV channels which I watch on his 42″ Plasma Widescreen. They’re showing a series of IMAX nature films. It all looks so good. God, I could watch this all night.

11:00PM: The current IMAX movie is about Alaska. They’re showing Salmon swimming upstream to their breeding grounds and Brown Bears catching and chowing down on the salmon. Bears look like they’re enjoying it so much that I start getting hungry. Turns out, my mom left me broiled salmon for dinner. I enjoy the hell out of it as I am totally in the mood for salmon.

12:00AM: It’s Christmas. The current IMAX movie is a documentary on a couple of beavers building a dam, surprisingly interesting. Throughout the documentary, the beavers are snacking on twigs and aspen leaves. They look like they’re enjoying them so much that I start getting hungry again. I stop watching the documentary because I know for a fact that we don’t have a good supply of twigs and leaves around that I can nosh on.

4:00AM: Eddie and Tim never showed up online, and I never called. In the meantime, I’ve been up because I can’t sleep cause I’ve been napping all evening. Oh, and also, one of the HDTV channels is showing footage of a burning log from 4AM till Noon. I shit you not.
